well this week has been a treat to all film lovers with a james camerooon "Avatar" (which has taken film making to a new level, more in a separate blog ) and then refreshing 3 idiots , a correctly hyped films ( well there has to be hype when one of the top 3 khans are there) , with Aamir you can be rest assured that there will be some more in the movie apart from the hype , ( remember Taare zameen par) and with this film raju hirani has given third super hit. Well the good thing about the movie, with being a bollywood movie ( little bit illogical, unconventional and 40 year old hero, playing a college kid) it very apt in today world , once the movie starts, its a treat for everyone, its a good satire on the present indian system where every parents want to make their son, daugher either engineer or doctor as though these are the only two speices who can survive when the doom day comes. The films starts with 3 idiots starting their college journey ( and i

am sure every one who has committed the great sin of doing engineering, would be able to relate to it ) , the movie then deals about the life of the student and what they want or how it should be for them . Raju hirani tries to give lot of message through small small incidents , the flow of story is really good and songs are catchy and come at the right time, though some people may find it too stretched and repetitive but common this is bollywood yaar , at the end of the day ... as SRK said "agar sab kuch aacha nahi hota ... to picture abhi baaki hai mere dost"... well a genuinely good films with good message "Chase excellence and success will follow" ... must see for every student and parents specially ... and that too in theatre ... as bolly wood needs it ....

Luck review –

Well let me be very honest, I don’t go and watch many films in theatre ( though I watch most or all the bollywood films, after downloading it from net) but this one I went to theatre to watch, the movie has a decent starcast and it managed to increase the curiosity index by roping in shruti hassan (kamal hassan and sagarika’s daughter), who has a good screen presence and is hot also , she did’nt had much scope for acting to be very frank but considering this is her first movie, she will evolve like ash, kat and other actress , and is definitely a good prospect.

Now coming back to the movie, the movie concept is a good one, but was not explored well by the writers, there are lot of loose ends, to name a few , why imran wanted to go to US , 1 ka 40 means to gamble ??? or was he taking about exchange rate, in case he wanted to gamble my dear friend you have macau, where recent IIFA was held, and closest is Kathmandu (and guess wat u don’t need a visa), anyways second was the love story between shruti and imran which could have been handled better , raghav (Ravi kishen) character was not explored as why a sophisticated guy (he was talking in english) would murder 28 girls and finally what was the logic of taking “game of death” between imran and sanjay dutt ???

Okay enough of bashing some good things about the movie are good cinematography, some very nice shots were canned by the camera man in SA and namibia, also some stunts were very good, specially the sky diving part, some dialogues were very good, especially ravi kishen’s ,I am sure these dialogues will be cheered in country theatre with whistles and claps.

Now coming to the goof up – (love this part in imdb)

• After imran has beating up ravi kishen when he tries to rape shruti, danny tells him that he cannot be hurt further as maximum money has been put on him, but in the next shot sanjay dutt says maximum money is on imran, I thought by definition maximum can be only on one.
• In the fighting scene ravi kishen is shown firing a machine gun , now with that gun even my nephew who is 5 years old can kill a person who is running straight towards him, but god know whether our ravi kishen bhaiya was thinking about rakhi’s future husbands that he was not able to hit even one on target.
• Was there some kind of signal there in shruti’s room when ravi kishen tries to physical with her , suddenly imran comes. Very strong mental connection.
• What was imran trying to achieve after playing “game of death” with Sanjay dutt, or was it to show how lucky he is , well a guy who gets shruti hassan and 20 cr in 20 days , damn we know he is lucky.
